Kitchen Products that I like

I just wanted to share a few of the products that I like to use in my kitchen. Better Life dish soap to handwash dishes, even though it is not as grease cutting as traditional dish soaps, I know that I am using a safe product for my family.

Homemade Organic White Bread!!

This is a very basic, very easy, organic bread recipe. My family loves bread, and we have a very difficult time finding organic bread that actually tastes good. My kids didn't care for the wheat bread that I posted about before, but they LOVE this bread! It tastes just like that old fashioned homemade bread that you love to eat hot out of the oven! AND.....it only has five ingredients!!

Easy Non-Toxic DIY Foaming Soap

This is so easy to make, very cost effective, and most of all, a safe hand soap for you and your family.
I have re-used foaming pump containers from previous purchased products, but you can buy empty foaming soap containers from Amazon, TJ Maxx, Ross, and many other places.

Here's the Recipe:

Affordable Safe Soaps

I have been on a journey to make our home safe and toxic free. However, the price of most products has made it very difficult. I have been searching for affordable but safe options.

Most bar soaps are full of toxic chemicals and fragrances linked to: Developmental/reproductive toxicity, Allergies/immunotoxicity, Irritation and/or Organ system toxicity.

The price for a bar of handcrafted soap can be from $5-8 each. I splurged on a few bars, but just couldn't continue to buy them.

Eco-Green Changes in the Kitchen

Choose to use Glass, Stainless Steel and wood as much as possible. I have found many great Glass options at Target, Walmart, K-mart and Amazon. Anchor Hocking is made in the USA and a great option for storage, and serving items. However, any clear glass is a great option, just be sure it is NOT lead crystal.

Benefits and Uses of Apple Cider Vinegar and Uses for White Vinegar!!

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is a type of vinegar made by the fermentation of apple cider. During the fermentation process, sugar in the apple cider is broken down by bacteria and yeast into alcohol and then into vinegar. Like other types of vinegar, apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid and it also contains some lactic, citric and malic acids. Always look for a good raw, unfiltered brand 'with the mother'.

Non-distilled and organic variety which is natural raw organic apple cider vinegar is apple cider vinegar with the mother. This natural cider is rich brown in color and, when held to the light, you can see a tiny cob web like formation of substances which are called the mother. And as it ages, you will see the mother. Natural ACV doesn't need refrigeration.

Toxic-Free Homemade Laundry Soap! Super Easy!!

We will be needing more laundry soap in the next few days, so I thought what a great time to share this simple....BUT very effective recipe with you.

I have researched and researched the making of toxic-free homemade laundry soap! There are many different recipes, most with a variant of the same ingredients.
The one I made only has two ingredients and I will explain why as I go.......

Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of water to improve health!

Did any of you buy the organic Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)? I wrote about some of the health benefits the other day. You can read about it HERE!

But simply one teaspoon in a glass of water several times a day can help improve your health. You want to make sure you buy Organic "with the mother" apple cider vinegar; that means it hasn't been filtered.

"The Spoon Theory"

This is how many must choose to live each day! If too much is done in one day...It will be 'paid' for in the following days or even a week or more trying to catch up!
This is what it feels like to have a Chronic Illness.

This story was originally written by Christine Miserandino,

My best friend and I were in the diner, talking. Like normal girls our age, we spent a lot of time in the diner while in college, and most of the time we spent talking about boys, music or trivial things, that seemed very important at the time. We never got serious about anything in particular and spent most of our time laughing.

Lyme Disease

This information is taken directly from: http://www.lymeneteurope.org/info/lyme-disease
This page provides an overview with basic information about Lyme disease.

What is Lyme disease?

Lyme disease is an infectious disease that is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi (Bb), which is a spirally shaped type of bacterium that is called a spirochete. In 1981 researcher Willy Burgdorfer discovered this new bacterium in ticks (bloodsucking parasites), a bacterium belonging to the genus Borrelia.

The bacterium was named Borrelia burgdorferi after its discoverer. Not long after its discovery it was also established that Borrelia burgdorferi is the cause of Lyme disease, a disease recognized around the town Old Lyme, Connecticut, in the Unites States of America in the 1970s by researcher Allen Steere. The medical name is Lyme borreliosis. So the name "Lyme" origins from the name of a town, not a name of a doctor or researcher. In German language they use the name Borreliose.

ALL Natural Woolzies Dryer Balls! Finally something that works in the dryer!!

I was given a box of extra large dryer balls by Woolzies for a Review, and have been using them for weeks now.

As most of you know, our family is working on eliminating toxin from our lives. One of the most highly toxic products are your standard dryer sheets. Not only are the bad for you they are bad for our environment. We stopped using those years ago, and just used the white vinegar in our rinse cycle. You can read about that HERE!

So, you can imagine how excited I was to find an All Natural Product that works in the Dryer!! These are made with 100% Pure New Zealand Wool!

Homemade Honey Wheat Bread! No preservatives!!

Since we began our journey to eat healthier and more organic, one of the hardest items for us to find was a good tasting organic or natural bread.

So, I have been searching the web and found many similar recipes, but as you all know, I can not physically make and knead bread dough! I did find a few good sounding recipes that used a bread machine {but we didn't have a bread machine, use to have one years ago; but it was never used and therefore donated to Goodwill years and years ago}

I thought, if I donated a good working bread machine, maybe someone else did also. We have a Goodwill literally about one block from our house, so I decided that I would go and just look.

What a Wonderful #Organic Breakfast!!

If you have been following my blog, you know that we are trying to eat a more Organic diet. This is hard for a girl like me, I really do not like breakfast. For years my breakfast consisted of a cereal bar and coffee.

I don't like cold cereal because everything gets mushy to quickly! However, I recently began eating Organic Plain Yogurt with Organic Granola drizzled with a little Organic, Raw, Unfiltered Honey. It is so yummy!!

Sometimes, I eat a small bowl at night too {instead of a bowl of ice cream}

I must admit, there are some things Organic that I tolerate because I know they are good for me, well this is not one of them. I really like this combination.

Try it and let me know what you think.
